Basketball is the most played games for American Children nowadays, it is good to have basketball goals in your house. It will gives endless fun for hyperactive kids to release their energy and also a good form of practice and exercise.
Installing a basketball goals is not a very difficult to do, and doing this with your family will be rather fun as it provides the kids to learn and also let them associates more with the game. So
what are the tips on installing a simple basketball goal?
In installing a basketball goal in your yard, the first thing is finding the best location. Where do you want to install it, the front porch or the backyard, so first find the exact location you want it to be fixed. I would advise you to find a flat location that is even. Bumpy or sloppy areas are not advisable. Who wants to play on uneven terrains or uphill slop thus it is more logical that your basketball goals are on flat grounds. Secondly is choosing the types of goals, I have written several post on the different goals available in the market, I do hope that it will help you find the right kind of goals that suited your kids.
For kids, I would advise you to purchase a portable basketball goal as they are relatively cheap compared to others and also easy to assemble. They are also very suitable for kids. You may start with a portable goal first and as they are keener on it, you could change to a perment goal. Permanent goals are also more costly. In installing basketball portable able goals all you need is all purpose gravel or loose stones, a plum line shovel or maybe a post digger depending what you have and the basketball goal you purchased.
The next step after having all the above is you dig a posthole, the diameter I advise should be at least three times larger than the post and the depth should be like one third of the length of the post. After digging, you just need to place gravel you prepared earlier, this is to ensure better water drainage during raining season. Then you install in the post in the centre of the hole and make sure they are level and when they are in good position, pour concrete filling up the hole. You might want to stop around 3 inches before they are filled up to check on the position of the post. If they are not right, make some alteration before you fill up the concrete.
You are about to complete your task. After all this, you pour water on the dry concrete and allow it to soak to ensure they are well. Wait for a few hours before fixing the billboards and nets. In waiting for the post to harden, I would advise you to fix the backboard, rims and nets to optimize your time of waiting. Most basketball backboard are easily assemble, just follow instructions given.
After a few hours, your basketball goals should be ready for fixing of the backboard. Make sure that you measure the right height you want the backboard to be installed, a height that are suitable for your kids. Again, I have written an article earlier on portable and adjustable basketball goals backboard. The standard height would be around 10 feet above the ground.
So that’s all about fixing basketball goals for kids. I do hope my above tips are beneficiary to you and the ready basketball goals will provide your kids and family many hours of fun.

Adjustable Basketball Hoops |Various types of Nets Available In The Market
Adjustable basketball hoops are very popular among children. Most house have one nowadays to keep children preoccupied and also good exercise regime.
Various types of Nets Available In The Market
When you purchase an adjustable basketball hoops, many people forget about the importance in finding a suitable net. The net is as important as the basketball hoops itself. When you buy the hoops, usually the net comes together in the purchase but do you know that you can actually buy the net separately? There are many types of nets available in the market today, we are going to look at a few reliable and popular nets.
When you think of adjustable basketball hoops net, the first material that comes across your mind is nylon. Nylon is one of the common materials that are used in making basketball hoops but not the only kind. There is also the chain net, which is gaining popularity nowadays. Chain nets are more durable as they are main from steel chains thus making it a popular choice in public playground and gym when durability is often tested with many people slam dunking it. So if you are one person looking for long term investment, this might be a good choice for you.
Nylon nets are the most common and more used by people. They are relatively cheaper compare to chain nets but do consider that they are not so lasting thus you might be replacing a lot of nets in your lifetime. That is why I often advise people to take into consideration on the types of net you might one because it is an investment in terms of time (replacement of nets) and costs.
I would recommend these 2 models of nylon nets which I feel are more of better quality. They are the FT10 and FT10AW. The FT10 nets are made from nylon which is braided and the company provides us 1 year warranty for defects. This gives buyers an assurance on the quality of this net. The FT10 nets can be used in competition standard.
The FT10AW is a better quality version, it’s made from braided nylon too but the nylon is braided better thus making it heavier. This is vital as it tends to reduce the whip that is experience with most light weight nets.
The chain nets on the other types of net, as it is heavier and more durable. The more popular chain net in the market is FT11E which is economical. It’s made from zinc plates thus its durable and is installed with the S hook, and relatively easy to install. If you are one that is looking for quality, I would recommend you the FT11. The hoops are welded thus making it safe especially for slam dunks, you can’t get cuts or injured that easily. This one is more costly but it’s worth the payment. They are installed easily by the S hooks.
So before you start buying the nets, please do look into the type of nets you are looking for and to do this it is the best to look into your needs.

Adjustable basketball goals are beginning to gain popularity. It is because it can be adjusted and is very suitable for household with different players like kids and adults. One can just adjust the heights of the poles to suite the different height of players. There are many types of adjustable basketball goals in the market. We are going to discuss a few that are more popular in the market. In purchasing adjustable basketball goals, there are different things you might want to look into.
Pin Adjust - The first of adjustable goal is known as "pin adjust." This adjustment method is very quick thus it is very easy for older children. The pin adjust is a spring balanced basketball goal. There is a removable pin located on the backside of the basketball post thus you can just adjust the pin for the height of the goal. The weight of the backboard and rim is counterbalanced by the springs or a weighted handle thus it will not be thrown out of balance. When the pin is removed, the backboard and rim can easily be moved up and down. Push the pin back into the handle at your desired playing height. Just simple as that. Pin adjust style units are generally adjustable from 10' down to 7'. Pin adjustable basketball goal units are easy to move up and down and very safe making it suitable for children. When the pin is removed the backboard will not move unless pressure is applied to the handle thus it’s very safe whereby even a fourth grader can do it.
Rear Crank - The "rear crank" adjustment style is the easiest and the most popular style of adjustment. Rear crank adjustable basketball goals works in the way that it utilizes an adjustment actuator similar to that used on a front crank style unit except the actuator is mounted on the back side instead. The rear crank has a built in handle that can be turned clockwise or counterclockwise to raise or lower the basket. The handle is located approx. 4' above ground making it fairly easy reachable for young children. Rear crank units are most can adjust from 10' down to 7 1/2', but some units can adjust to lower heights. Rear crank styles are the easiest type of goal to adjust for any age group. There are many versions of rear crank models, different models have fairly different benefits and pricing.
Gas Crank – There are also gas type of basketball adjustable goals. These units utilized gas filled cylinders to provide the lifting force to make the goals up and down. This style of crank is also known as "Gas Assist”. A single gas filled cylinder is installed on the back side of the basketball post to "lift" the backboard and rim when we trigger handle, this is done by squeezing on the post. Generally, these units seem to work reasonably well for adults compare to kids as it involves a gas cylinder, and they are too difficult for kids under 6th grade. Higher end units have heavier backboards thus they may require a grown adult to raise the basket.
Stick Adjust Crank- This is the most basic adjustment method of all adjustable basketball goals and is also known as the "stick adjust." This adjustable basketball goal is moved up and down by using a broom handle, or other type of stick. In order to move the goal up and down a broom handle is inserted into the adjustment latch usually located behind the backboard. When the latch is released, the weight of the backboard and goal is transferred to the stick and the basket is lowered. The goal can be adjusted to other rim heights by using the same stick to push up on the bottom of the backboard. The backboard can be adjusted from 7 1/2' to 10'. When you will hear a "click" at each height setting means that it is at one level of height. The stick adjust method is very quick and a great choice for people who wants an affordable adjustable basketball goals. Generally, stick adjust units are for adults and kids above age of 13. Like most adjustable goal types, there are cheap and expensive versions. The more expensive version is that the models are manufactured with an adjustable arm system that is U-bolted to the vertical post.
This makes the adjustable arm system to be assembled to the post at a lower height on the post.

Lifetime Basketball Goals
Lifetime is a reknowned brand selling basketball goals, they have been in the market for so long and are very reputable and sort after basketball goals compare to other brands. There are many models produce by Lifetime for basketball goals, here are a few best seller models.
Different Models of Lifetime Basketball Goals; 71522, 71523, 71524
The above Lifetime basketball goals may look similar physically but they are infect a lot of difference in them. Buyers must look into all of them as these portable basketball goals models can provide buyers a hassle if buyers do not go over the product listing thoroughly. On the outlook, they all appear the same, they all have 54-inch backboard, same portable base, a 3.5-inch pole. There are several factors that differentiate the products models from each other. We are going to elaborate further on this.
The 54-inch Backboard
The entire Lifetime basketball goals models above features the largest backboard size available compare to other models. This distinct 54-inch mark backboard makes these backboards just 18 inches shorter compared to the standard regulation width. In the 71523 and the 71524 models of Lifetime basketball goals, the backboard is made from polycarbonate. For the 71522 model, the backboard is made from acrylic material. For players, the difference between acrylic and polycarbonate backboard is just fairly minimal. The feedback from players is that acrylic provides a more superior rebound of the ball when the ball hits the backboard. For beginning to intermediate level of players, this difference will be unnoticeable. This will be noticeable for advance players. They will likely feel that a polycarbonate backboard material throws off their bank shots off a bit thus advance players are not really eager on this. Polycarbonate is used because it is considered to be about 30 times stronger than acrylic, thus increasing the life of your Lifetime basketball goals. Though we do not expect your backboard to break over night compared to the acrylic material ones, however polycarbonate backboards will last twice longer compare to the acrylic one.
The Backboard Frame
Of all the three portable basketball goals, there is a major difference in the thickness of the frame. For the 71522 and the 71523, the steel frame on the backboard measures 1.5 inches wide. On the 71524, the frame measures only 1 inch wide. On basketball goals, such difference as these it will greatly impact the rebound. So in terms of rebound, the 71522 (with its acrylic backboard and 1.5 inch frame) will have the best rebound and the 71524 (with its polycarbonate backboard and 1 inch frame) will have the worst rebound. Comparing these two factors, the backboard material and the thickness of the frame, the thickness of the frame plays a bigger role in improving rebound.
Pricing Of the Models of Lifetime Basketball Goals
With all the above models explained, you might expect the 71522 to be the most expensive. This however, this is not always the case. In fact, the 71523 is more expensive than the 71522 and the 71524 is the cheapest compared to the other model. The main reason for this is the cost of production of the different models. Polycarbonate often is more expensive production materials thus making it pricier compared to acrylic. Also there are several differences in quality also when you compare to price. This means that while the 71522 is cheaper than the 71523, the acrylic backboard of the 71522 will likely not last as long as the polycarbonate backboard on the 71523. On the 71523, we would expect to not see as good of a rebound as the 71522, but you will be spending more for the 71523. So basically it’s not about pricing but what you want from your goals.

Basketball Goals For Sale Tips on How to Install a Simple Basketball Goals For Kids
So what are the tips on installing a simple basketball goal?
In installing a basketball goal in your yard, the first thing is finding the best location. Where do you want to install it, the front porch or the backyard, so first find the exact location you want it to be fixed. I would advise you to find a flat location that is even. Bumpy or sloppy areas are not advisable. Who wants to play on uneven terrains or uphill slop thus it is more logical that your basketball goals are on flat grounds. Secondly is choosing the types of goals, I have written several post on the different goals available in the market, I do hope that it will help you find the
right kind of goals that suited your kids.
